Yggdrasil

Mosaic.jpg

This is a mosaic of the Nordic tree called Yggdrasil

(Eee - G (as in gulp) - Druh - Sil.)

In Nordic mythology, Yggdrasil is the sacred tree of life that binds the nine mythological worlds (realms) together.

This tree was my 1st creation using digital art tools.

Contrasting Posters

Contrasting Posters_Page_2.jpg

In Contrasting Posters, the main concept explored here is how the two posters are completely different in Artistic themes. The ways in which the two posters differ are:

- The most noticeable difference is the choice of colors. The poster on the left is dark and full of cool colors, while the poster on the right is bright, vivid, and full of warm colors.

- In a similar fashion, the left poster includes a moon, while the one on the right includes a sun.

- The fonts on each poster are different. The one one the left poster is tight, narrow, and rigid, contrary to the poster on the right, which is  wild and open

- The actual text of the fonts are polar opposites, with the one on the right saying "Explore Your Mind - Meditate" implies tuning into your inner self and staying inside, whilst "Explore the Horizons - Travel" implies the opposite, looking outside of the box (your mind), getting outside, and exploring.

frost bIte

Frost Bite.jpg

The purpose this picture is supposed to convey is a juxtaposition of words. In the picture above, the word 'Frost Bite' is represented in the background with the cold and icy 'Frost Bite' like weather.

Isfjall - the road to valhalla

Album Cover.jpg

The above digital collage is a an album cover for a fictional band. It features a cover and back cover, as well as a selection of songs.

Isfjall is Icelandic and translates to ice mountain.

Valhalla, in the Nordic religion, is the enormous hall where fallen warriors go after they courageously die (similar concept to Heaven.) Ruled by the god Odin, fallen warriors blissfully feast and make merriment all day.

The song selection is chronological and tells a story.

The statue

of liberty

This digital collage displays the statue of liberty with a backdrop of a beautiful sunset on a clear night. The image features a fluorescent flaming torch, enamoring sun rays, vibrant colors of the sunset, and gleaming stars that light up the sky.

This inspiring version of the iconic picture represents freedom, patriotism, and unity.

The statue of liberty is a gift from France, gifted to the United States of America on October 8, 1886. The monumental statue represents freedom and is a national symbol of the USA. It currently stands outside of Manhattan, New York.

Raine, norway

The inspiration for this digital collage came from an artists picture found on Instagram. I took her picture a step further and designed my collage to resemble the 'connection lost' screen on tube TVs.

The village depicted in the collage (hard to tell its a village right!) is found in Norway. Reine is a small fishing village located on the coast of Lofoten Islands, a small archipelego located in northern Norway.

the path to

the waterfalls

The Path to the Waterfalls is a fantasy piece that is supposed to invoke a sense of wonder and disillusionment. Take a step through any one of the 5 portals and you will be transported to the surreal landscapes of Iceland.

The Background picture was taken while I was studying abroad in Sweden in 2019, and pictures of the waterfalls were all taken by me while I was traveling through Iceland a few weeks earlier.

Ghostly Couple: Portrait from my personal Ancestry Account

The Mountainside

The Mountainside's purpose is to make the viewer feel mesmerized through its beautiful, haunting, and fantasy-like atmosphere.

The bleak landscape lacking color and the snowy mountains in the background, in addition to the ghostly couple casually taking a stroll, invokes an eerie sense of calmness and makes the overall picture seem cold and frigid.

The couple in the photo are my Swedish great grandparents; the original portrait was taken in 1905.
