What is WWOOFING?
WWOOF, which is an acronym for World Wide Organizations on Organic farms, is an international organization that connects farmers with willing volunteers to help with labor on their farm. In exchange for work from the volunteers, WWOOFing hosts supply volunteers with free housing and food.

WWOOF is available in North America, South America, Australia, Europa, and Africa.
As for me, I have WWOOFed on three farms before:

Wabi Sabi - WWOOFed Summer 2022 from May 18th to June 26th, Wabi-Sabi is a medium sized non commercial homestead/farm located in Shelter Island, Alaska, which is located on the island next to Juneau. Shelter Island is mostly uninhabbited, there are only a few farms/homesteds, the rest of the houses on the island are vacation homes. There are no roads on the island, the only way to get to or from are via boat or airplane. There are also no shops or services on the island ... Shelter Island is very isolated from the outside world.

Whaleseye - WWOOFed Summer 2022 from July 1st to August 15th, Whaleseye is a small sized sized non-commercial homestead/farm located in Shelter Island, Alaska, which is located on the island next to Juneau. There are no roads on the island, the only way to get to or from are via boat or airplane. There are also no shops or services on the island ... Shelter Island is very isolated from the outside world.

La Casa Da Vida Natural - WWOOFed Wwinter 2022 from Dec 19th 2022 to Jan 20th 2023, La Casa de Vida Natural is a medium sized commercial and non commercial homestead/airBNB located outside of Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. La Casa da Vida Natural used to be a health and wellness resort, but after it was hit by several hurricanes, it was permanently changed into an airBNB. Remodels to restore some resemblance of a health and wellness spa are underway. Located on top of a hill and next to the El Yunque Rainforest, La Casa de Vida Natural is in a prime location and is about as close to untapped nature as you can get!
